BangkokWiki is a practical guide to living in, moving to, investing in and visiting Bangkok. It covers transport, neighbourhoods, visas and paperwork, healthcare, property, business, and the everyday questions that come up after you arrive, not only the ones you ask before.

Who runs it

BangkokWiki was created by Mike Brochlowski, a travel photographer and designer who currently lives on Koh Samui, Thailand. He is the founder, the editor and the named author of every article here, and his author page lists them all. He also runs samui69.com, a non-commercial guide to Koh Samui. Every article carries a real name, not an invented persona, a stock avatar or a made-up byline.

How the pages are researched

Pages are researched from official and primary sources: government websites, regulators, official documents and other named organisations. Sources are named in plain text, and article text does not link out to other websites. Where a page gives a checked date, that is when the facts behind it were last confirmed. Prices, fees and rules change, so treat figures as approximate and confirm them with the named source before you act. Guides on health, law, tax and property are general information, not professional advice. Prices, hours, quotes and events are never invented.
