Essentials
Amari Bangkok is a 564-room hotel at 847 New Petchburi Road, in the middle of the Pratunam market district. The hotel’s website puts Ratchaprarop Airport Rail Link station 0.8 km away (about 10 minutes on foot) and Chit Lom BTS 1 km away (about 15 minutes).
Both stations are a real walk along busy roads, so many guests combine the hotel with taxis or the Saen Saep canal boat from Pratunam Pier, 0.45 km away. Suvarnabhumi is 28 km and Don Mueang 22 km, each about 40 minutes by road according to the hotel.
Overview
The hotel sits closer to the stalls than any other big hotel here. Platinum Fashion Mall is 0.09 km away (2 minutes), Pratunam Market 0.45 km (5 minutes), CentralWorld 0.55 km, Erawan Shrine 0.85 km and Siam Paragon 1 km, all from the hotel’s own list. Step outside and you are in the wholesale crowd, which is both the appeal and the cost.
Deluxe, Grand Deluxe and Premier rooms are 40 m2, and suites run from 74 m2 up to 156 m2. Club Premier rooms and suites come with Club Siraa privileges: daily breakfast buffet, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and private check-in and check-out. Next to the smaller Pratunam hotels such as Novotel Platinum, this is a large full-service property with more restaurants and more room space.
The market trades from early morning and the roads around it stay busy, so a higher floor is the better request if you want quiet.
Tip: Walk the 0.8 km to Ratchaprarop once in daylight before relying on it. The route is flat but crosses traffic, and a short taxi hop is easier after a day of shopping with bags.

Where to stay
Pick the area before the hotel
Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
