Essentials
Avani Ratchada Bangkok is a 402-room hotel in what Minor Hotels calls Bangkok’s new central business district, around Rama 9. It opened in 2024 and is the third Avani in the city. The hotel gives access to the MRT Blue Line at Phra Ram 9 station, and its website describes the station as directly in front of the hotel.
The location is office towers, malls and wide roads rather than temples or river. For getting around, the Blue Line and the Airport Rail Link at Makkasan are the two useful rail connections, and the hotel’s website puts both airports at about 30 minutes.
Overview
Rooms run from standard guestrooms to suites, with a 169 m2 Presidential Suite at the top of the range. Minor Hotels’ launch release describes the hotel as a business and leisure property, and it has eleven event spaces including a 924 m2 ballroom, so expect conference groups on weekdays in the lobby and at breakfast.
The strongest case for staying here is the wellness floor. A whole floor is given over to the pool, the AvaniFit gym, spa facilities, a Japanese onsen and a sauna, which turns a rest day into something you can do without leaving the building. Fortune IT Lifestyle Mall and Central Rama 9 are both close, so errands, a pharmacy run or a meal out do not need a taxi. Other hotels in the area are compared in the Ratchada and Rama 9 guide.
The hotel also advertises monthly rentals on its website, which is worth asking about for a longer stay. Because the rail link is the draw, ask for a room away from the main road side if traffic noise bothers you.
Tip: Suite guests get the AvaniClub Lounge on the 25th floor, with breakfast, afternoon refreshments and evening cocktails. If you are choosing between a standard room and a suite for a longer stay, that lounge is the main extra.
Food and drink
One Ratchada
The main all-day restaurant serves international and local food. It is the place for breakfast and a straightforward meal without leaving the hotel.
Nan Yuan
A Chinese restaurant focused on Cantonese dishes. It suits a seated group meal or a quieter dinner.
Metro Lounge
A lounge with cocktails and live music. The Pantry offers grab-and-go food and drinks, and there is a pool bar.
Amenities
The wellness floor holds the swimming pool, the AvaniFit gym, spa facilities, a Japanese onsen and a sauna, per Minor Hotels. Everything is on one floor.
Fortune IT Lifestyle Mall and Central Rama 9 are the nearby malls named in the launch release, which helps for longer stays.
For airport arrival, the Airport Rail Link at Makkasan is the quick option; the airport to city guide explains the options.

Where to stay
Pick the area before the hotel
Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
