Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium is a 23-storey five-star hotel at 1880 New Phetchaburi Road, in Bangkapi. Accor’s website lists a 7-minute walk to Phetchaburi MRT, and Makkasan station (the Airport Rail Link terminal) at 800 m, about 10 minutes on foot.

It is on the MRT Blue Line side of the district, so the MRT is the main way out. The hotel also lists a scheduled shuttle to Makkasan station and to Terminal 21 Asok, plus an on-call shuttle (extra charge) to Platinum Fashion Mall.

The hotel trades as Grand Mercure and appears under that name on the Accor website. Rooms come in eight types plus three suite types. Superior, Deluxe, Corner, Skyline and Executive rooms are 30 m2, the Corner Suite is 40 m2, the Executive Suite 84 m2 and the Grand Executive Suite 129 m2. Executive rooms include lounge access, and two accessible room types are listed.

The walk to Pratunam Market is longer than from the hotels on Ratchaprarop Road, so this works better as a base for a stay built around the MRT than for browsing stalls on foot. Terminal 21 Asok is 2.3 km away and Don Mueang airport 22 km.

Within the Pratunam options, the trade-off is a station on the Blue Line and the rail link in reach against a longer walk to the stalls.

Tip: Arriving from Suvarnabhumi, take the Airport Rail Link to Makkasan and use the hotel’s scheduled shuttle from there rather than walking with bags.
