Essentials
Prince Palace Bangkok is a large hotel with 744 rooms in four towers, set above the Bobae retail complex on Damrongrak Road beside Khlong Mahanak. According to the hotel’s website it opened in 1994, on the site of the old Mahanak Palace, and the lobby is on the 11th floor of Tower A.
It is not in Chinatown and has no rail station at its door. The walk to Pratunam Market is long, so the practical routes are a short taxi ride or the boat from Bobae Market Pier to Pratunam Pier.
Overview
The towers carry different rooms. Superior rooms (35 m2, twin beds) are in Towers B and C, and Deluxe rooms (35 m2, twin beds) are in Tower A. One Bedroom Suites are 50 m2 in Towers B and C. Families have the most choice: a Deluxe Family Bunk Bed room of 45 m2 sleeps four, a 2 Bedroom Family Suite is 58 m2, and a 3 Bedroom Family Suite in Tower D is 96 m2 for six. At the top end are a 68 m2 Executive Suite, a 102 m2 Jacuzzi Suite and an 800 m2 Presidential Suite.
The hotel holds a 4-Star Thailand Tourism Standard for 2026 to 2028 from the Department of Tourism, according to its news page. For a long stay the two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites give separate sleeping rooms, which suits two couples sharing. The lobby is on the 11th floor, so every arrival starts with a lift ride up from the street.
Among the choices in hotels in Chinatown, Pratunam and the old city, this is the one with the most rooms and no rail link at the door.
Tip: Ask which tower your room is in when you book. Tower A holds the lobby and the Deluxe rooms, Towers B and C the Superior rooms, and Tower D the larger family suites, so the tower tells you how far you are from the lobby and the pool.
Food and drink
China Palace
The hotel’s Chinese restaurant, serving Chinese dishes including dim sum and Peking duck, according to the hotel’s website. It is the one to pick for a sit-down group dinner.
Prince Cafe
The all-day restaurant, serving a buffet breakfast, an international buffet lunch and an a la carte menu. Breakfast is here, so a morning meal needs no trip outside.
Coconut Skyview
A rooftop bar with views over the Old Town and the Bangkok skyline. The hotel also runs Shinsen for sushi and sashimi, Palace Bar & Cafe for drinks and comfort food, and the Coconut Pool Bar by the pool.
Amenities
There is a swimming pool on the 11th floor of Tower A and another on the 12th floor of Tower D, according to the hotel’s facilities page. The fitness centre is on the 12th floor of Tower C and Darawadee Spa offers massages and treatment packages. The hotel also runs personal training and basic Muay Thai classes for guests.
Cribs and rollaway beds are free on request, and children under 4 stay free in a parents’ bed. Pets and smoking in rooms are not allowed. With four towers, ask the front desk at check-in which lifts reach the pool and the restaurants from your floor.

Where to stay
Pick the area before the hotel
Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
