Essentials
The Quarter Hualamphong by UHG is a hotel on Trimitr Road in Talad Noi, named after Bangkok’s central railway station. The hotel’s website puts it “steps from” Hua Lamphong MRT station and a stone’s throw from the railway terminus itself, with a 7-Eleven and a Starbucks next door.
That puts the railway terminus and the Blue Line within a few steps of the lobby. The Siphraya pier on the Chao Phraya is also nearby, and the hotel lists it as the link to ICONSIAM and Asiatique.
Overview
The hotel describes its rooms as modern oriental in style. Superior Twin rooms are 26 m2 and Deluxe rooms are 28 m2 in king or twin versions, each taking two adults and one child. The Two Bedroom Family Suite is 64 m2, with a separate living room, and sleeps four adults and a child. All rooms have a 50-inch Smart TV, a rainshower, a refrigerator, a safe, a desk and complimentary tea and coffee.
This suits arrivals and departures by train, early starts for the station and a first or last night in the city, where you want to drop your bags and be on the platform within minutes. It is less suited to visitors who want to be in the middle of Yaowarat’s street life: Chinatown is a walk away, not at the door. The hotel’s website names Sukon 1 Alley, with its food stalls, as a few minutes on foot.
For the other stays around the old terminus, hotels near BTS and train stations lists the neighbours and the other rail-linked areas.
Tip: If you are catching an early train, book the Superior or Deluxe room and ask for a higher floor: you are close to the station and the main road, and height gives some distance from the traffic noise.
Food and drink
HILLY’S
The hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, with a lively modern design, serving international and Thai dishes. The buffet breakfast is served here, which makes an early departure for the train straightforward.
For dinner, the hotel points to Sukon 1 Alley and the main Yaowarat Road, with street food and restaurants popular with locals as well as visitors.
Amenities
The hotel has a swimming pool, a gym called Urban Fit with strength and cardio equipment, sauna and steam rooms, a massage shop and a children’s playground. Wi-Fi is free in the rooms.
Meeting rooms range from 99 m2 to 315 m2, and there is a 400 m2 ballroom for weddings and group events. For a quiet rest between train journeys, the pool and the sauna are the useful part.

Where to stay
Pick the area before the hotel
Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
