Essentials

Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park is a luxury-tier hotel at 199 Sukhumvit Soi 22 with about 1,388 rooms in two towers. It stands beside Benchasiri Park, and Phrom Phong BTS is 7 to 10 minutes on foot, with the hotel’s own description giving about 10.

With seven dining venues, two pools and a spa, the hotel has most of a stay under one roof. The park next door gives a green route toward the EM District malls, Emporium and EmQuartier, in roughly five minutes.

Overview

The two towers have 38 floors each, so ask which tower and floor you are assigned before arrival; the distance to the lobby and the pool deck differs between them.

This is the family pick on the Phrom Phong side: a children’s pool, cribs and kids’ meals are listed. It also suits a long stay for the number of venues, the Club Lounge and the spa under one roof. For travellers who want a smaller building, the neighbours are compared in hotels around Phrom Phong and Thonglor, and the Soi 24 options are in boutique and design hotels in Bangkok.

Tip: Cross through Benchasiri Park rather than along Soi 22 when walking to the malls, and keep the 10-minute figure in mind for the BTS when you carry luggage.

Food and drink

Goji Kitchen + Bar

Goji is the international all-day buffet restaurant and the venue most guests use for breakfast. Marriott lists it as international cuisine, so a long stay has plenty of variety without leaving the hotel.

The Siam Tea Room

The Siam Tea Room serves Thai cooking, a good choice when a hotel dinner needs to be local rather than international.

Pagoda

Pagoda is the Chinese restaurant. It suits a group or family sharing plates.

Marriott also lists Akira Back for Asian-fusion, ABar Rooftop for cocktails and skyline views, the Lobby Lounge and Teeshot Bar.

Amenities

Marriott’s website describes two spacious pools. The main pool deck is on the 9th floor between the towers, with a children’s pool beside it. Quan Spa has 11 treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy pool, and the fitness centre is complimentary to guests.

A Club Lounge is available at the Club level, free for Platinum Elite members and above.

Where to stay

Pick the area before the hotel

Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
