Thonburi Hospital is a 435-bed private hospital in Bangkok Noi, on the west (Thonburi) bank of the Chao Phraya River, and it is the original hospital of Thonburi Healthcare Group (THG). Opened on 10 May 1977, it is described as the first private hospital on that side of the river. The group now runs several more hospitals under the Thonburi name, and not all of them are in Bangkok: three sit inside the city and two more are in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani. THG holds 95.14% of Thonburi Bamrungmuang (raised to 98.26% after a rights offering completed in December 2025), 99.99% of Thonburi Burana’s operator and 21.47% of Phatara-Thonburi’s operator. For a patient this matters less than the practical question: each hospital has its own doctors, price list and call centre, so check each one separately.

Thonburi Thawiwatthana is a Bangkok hospital in Thawi Watthana, also known as Thonburi 2. It opened on 8 March 1993 at 43/4 Boromarajonani Road with 68 beds. A second building was added, and the group lists 95 registered beds and 45 OPD rooms today. It is directly managed and operated by THG. It suits patients who live in the Thawi Watthana and Boromarajonani Road area and want a smaller hospital than the flagship. Ask whether the specialist you need sees patients there or only at Bangkok Noi.

What is Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital?

Thonburi Bamrungmuang is at 611 Bamrung Mueang Road, Khlong Mahanak, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Bangkok 10100. The call centre is 02-220-7999 and the emergency ambulance line is 02-220-3899. Its website lists centres for knee repair, digital dental care, gastroenterology and liver, orthopaedics, surgery, IVF, heart, and plastic surgery and aesthetics. It shows AACI accreditation logos (High Reliability, Quality Patient Safety, Dental and Endoscopy) and ISO 9001 logos, so ask the hospital for the certificate and its dates.

Thonburi Burana and Phatara-Thonburi: the Pathum Thani branches

Both hospitals are in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani, a province north of Bangkok. They are a longer trip than the Bangkok branches.

• Thonburi Burana is at 89/3 Moo 3, Khlong Nueng, Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani 12120, phone 0 2078 5777. It opened in February 2020 with 55 registered beds, is operated by Thonburi Wellbeing Co. and is part of the Jin Wellbeing County project. Its website mentions a Horizon Center.
• Phatara-Thonburi has 112 registered beds and 17 OPD rooms. THG holds 21.47% of its operator.

Are the provincial Thonburi hospitals part of the same group?

Yes, the group lists hospitals in Hat Yai (Thonburi Rajyindee, 196 beds), Ubon Ratchathani (Ubonrak-Thonburi, 100 beds), Chanthaburi (Sirivej Chanthaburi), Thung Song in Nakhon Si Thammarat (Thonburi Thung Song, 50 beds) and Trang (Thonburi Trang).
