Bangkok Hospital is not one hospital but a network run by Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS), and the Bangkok Hospital directory (checked 9 October 2026) lists 32 entries: 30 in Thailand and two Royal hospitals in Cambodia. The branches differ a lot in size and focus. Pattaya has 300 beds and a Heart Center, Chiang Mai has 122 beds and 21 centres, Hua Hin has 64 beds, and Samui has 50 beds plus a boat ambulance for the nearby islands (Bangkok Hospital, 2026). This guide maps the branches, shows which ones have a dental centre, and tells you what to ask before you pick one.

What is Bangkok Dusit Medical Services?

Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited, shortened to BDMS, is the company that owns Bangkok Hospital and other hospital brands, such as Samitivej, BNH and Phyathai. Bumrungrad is not part of BDMS.

For how the names overlap and which brand to choose first, read the Bangkok Hospital and BDMS guide. For the sister brands, see Samitivej’s branches, Phyathai’s network and the BNH Hospital guide. This page covers only the Bangkok Hospital brand and its branches.

How many Bangkok Hospital branches are there?

The Bangkok Hospital directory (checked 9 October 2026) lists 32 hospitals. The Bangkok Hospital Pattaya page (same date) calls the hospital “one of 30 locations”, so each count belongs to its own document.

Region Hospitals in the directory
Bangkok (Huai Khwang) Bangkok Hospital Headquarter, Bangkok Heart Hospital, Wattanosoth Cancer Hospital, Bangkok International Hospital
West and centre Hua Hin, Sanamchan, Phetchaburi, Muangraj
East Pattaya, Chanthaburi, Trat, Koh Chang International Hospital, Sri Rayong, Rayong, Pluakdaeng, Bangkok Rayong Cancer Hospital
North and northeast Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Udon, Phitsanulok, Khon Kaen, Ratchasima, Pakchong, Khaoyai
South Phuket, Siriroj (Phuket), Dibuk Hospital (Phuket), Hat Yai, Samui, Surat
Cambodia Royal Angkor International Hospital (Siem Reap), Royal Phnom Penh Hospital

Many entries list the 1719 hotline next to the hospital’s own number. Calls to 1719 are for local calls only, so from abroad use the branch’s full number.

What does the Bangkok campus have?

The four Bangkok entries sit in Huai Khwang and share the number +66 2 310 3000 (Wattanosoth also lists +66 2 755 1188). The headquarters states JCI accreditation for the sixth consecutive cycle. Details of the flagship are in the headquarters guide. In short:

  • Bangkok Hospital Headquarter: the general flagship with the International Service Center and interpreters in 20+ languages.
  • Bangkok Heart Hospital: the hospital’s page says 95 cardiovascular beds, about 400 outpatients a day, around 70 cardiovascular physicians and JCI accreditation since 2007. This is the place to start for the “Bangkok Hospital heart center” question.
  • Wattanosoth Cancer Hospital: a cancer hospital on the Bangkok campus.
  • Bangkok International Hospital: marketed as the Bone X Brain Hospital, focused on bone and joint diseases, spine diseases and neurological disorders.

What is Bangkok Hospital Phuket like?

Phuket has three BDMS entries in the directory: Bangkok Hospital Phuket (+66 7625 4425), Bangkok Hospital Siriroj (+66 7636 1888) and Dibuk Hospital. For the full comparison of the first two, including emergency steps, read the Bangkok Hospital Phuket guide.

Dental care in Phuket

The Phuket Dental Center is open daily from 9:00 to 17:00 on +66 7625 4425 ext. 3730. It lists general and restorative dentistry, oral surgery including wisdom tooth extraction, children’s dentistry, gum care, root canals, prosthodontics, orthodontics, implants, whitening and 3D dental X-ray and CT. For “Bangkok Hospital Phuket dentist” or “Bangkok Phuket dental hospital” searches, this is the centre meant. Ask for a written, dated price list before you book.

For the neighbourhood clinics, the Bangkok Phuket Clinic network runs seven small sites (Maikhao, Laguna, Airport, Rawai, Kamala, Khaolak, Srisunthon). Its page lists a health check-up package at THB 1,499 (~$44) valid to 31 December 2026, checked 9 October 2026. These clinics are for consultations, injections, wound care, blood tests and medical certificates, so they suit minor problems, not a full hospital stay.

What is Bangkok Hospital Pattaya known for?

Bangkok Hospital Pattaya opened on 23 June 1990 in Banglamung, Chonburi, and its page lists 300 beds. It describes itself as the main referral hospital for Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard. Its history page says it was first accredited by JCI in 2009 and reviewed in 2012 and 2015, so check the current status with JCI directly. Phone +66 3825 9999.

For more detail, see our Bangkok Hospital Pattaya guide.

Its centres include a Heart Center, Neuroscience Center, Emergency Medical Service Center, Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Center and Orthopedic Center. Heart services listed include coronary angiography, cardiac electrophysiology, ablation, device therapy and bypass surgery without a heart-lung machine, with 3.0T MRI and 128-slice CT. Interpreters cover more than 20 languages, and the hospital also handles referrals and embassy liaison.

This is the page behind “Bangkok Hospital Pattaya dental” and “Bangkok Pattaya hospital dental center”.

What does Bangkok Hospital Samui offer?

Bangkok Hospital Samui opened in 2004 with 50 beds and 72 medical professionals, and its page says more than 60% of clients are foreigners. It calls itself internationally accredited. Two practical points matter for islanders and travellers:

  • It states it has the only MRI service on Koh Samui.
  • It runs a Hydrolance boat ambulance that moves patients from nearby islands including Koh Tao and Koh Phangan.

The directory lists +66 7742 9500 and the 1719 hotline. Confirm the right line for same-day visits and emergencies with the hospital before you travel. The Samui Dental Department treats children and adults: orthodontics, implants, prosthetics, root canals, gum disease and aesthetic dentistry, on +66 7742 9500 (the “Bangkok Hospital Samui dental” search). How do you compare branches before you book?

Prices, doctors and records can differ from branch to branch. Ask each one:

  1. Which centre treats my problem, and which doctor will I see?
  2. Can an interpreter attend the consultation, not only the front desk?
  3. What does the written quote include, and what date is it valid to?
  4. Does my insurer have direct billing with this exact branch? See health insurance for expats.
  5. What is the current accreditation status? JCI vs private vs public hospitals explains what the badge means.
  6. Can it see my file from another BDMS hospital? Ask in writing, and never assume it can.

For a check-up, compare inclusions rather than headline prices: executive health check-up packages shows how. The guide to choosing a hospital lists the general questions.
