Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital: East Bangkok Guide
Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital: 400 beds, new 111-bed children's hospital, 24-hour trauma and spine center, address, and 2026 check-up prices from 3,500 baht.

On this page
Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital has 400 beds and more than 500 medical professionals, at 488 Srinakarin Road, Suan Luang, in eastern Bangkok (Samitivej, 2026). It suits families, people living in the Bangna, Srinakarin and Suan Luang areas, and travellers who want care near Suvarnabhumi Airport. Its strongest points are a children’s hospital that moved into its own eight-floor building in 2025 and a 24-hour trauma center. For a small problem a clinic costs less, and for a very complex case you may want to compare it with Bumrungrad and Bangkok Hospital.
What is Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital?
Samitivej is a private hospital group, and the Srinakarin branch is its big eastern site. Samitivej’s own page says it offers a complete range of medical services for Thai and foreign patients, and that it has a clinic at Suvarnabhumi International Airport and can transfer patients to the airport quickly.

The same brand runs other hospitals, and they are not interchangeable. Read Samitivej hospital network branches explained to compare all of them, and the Samitivej Sukhumvit hospital guide for the central branch. This page covers Srinakarin only.

Where is Samitivej Srinakarin and how do you get there?
The address is 488 Srinakarin Road, Suan Luang, Bangkok 10250. Give the driver the hospital name, “Samitivej Srinakarin”, and the road, because the group has several Bangkok hospitals.
Samitivej says the trauma center is easy to reach from the main road and is less than 30 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Traffic on Srinakarin Road changes through the day, so ask the hospital how long to allow for your appointment time, and whether it runs a shuttle and from where.
Is Samitivej Srinakarin the right Samitivej branch for you?
Pick Srinakarin when:
- you live or work in east Bangkok and want a large hospital close to home;
- your child may need specialist or intensive care, or you want a children’s hospital on the same campus as an emergency department;
- you are flying through Suvarnabhumi and want a hospital that has an airport clinic and transfer arrangements;
- you need a 24-hour trauma center or a spine center.
Pick another branch when you live elsewhere in the city. The branches comparison lists each one.
What can you see a doctor for at Srinakarin?
The Bupa Global directory lists 13 specialties at the hospital: general cardiology, emergency medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general and internal medicine, general surgery, haematology, orthopaedic surgery, physiotherapy, plastic and reconstructive surgery, psychiatry and psychology, renal medicine and urology. It lists English and Chinese as the languages for the facility.
Two services have their own detailed pages on Samitivej’s site, covered below: the trauma center and the spine and joint center. For anything else, ask the hospital which doctor and which clinic handle your problem, and ask for the doctor’s name, specialty and languages in writing.

What is the Samitivej children’s hospital at Srinakarin?

Samitivej Children’s Hospital moved out of the main hospital building and into a standalone eight-floor building on the Srinakarin campus, announced on 27 February 2025. It has 111 beds and cost 2 billion baht (Samitivej, 2025). The group runs two children’s campuses, Sukhumvit and Srinakarin, and Srinakarin’s is the new one.
What Samitivej says about the children’s hospital:
- More than 100 pediatric specialists.
- A neonatal intensive care unit that can treat premature babies weighing under 500 g.
- A hybrid operating theater that uses biplane X-ray to reduce radiation exposure.
- More than 1,000 newborn and pediatric surgeries, including minimally invasive procedures; more than 400 congenital heart operations in newborns; more than 60 scoliosis operations.
- Bone marrow transplants, including haploidentical stem cell transplants.

The children’s hospital has its own phone line, +66 2 022 2086. Samitivej also describes pre-entry respiratory screening at the outpatient department. Confirm by phone which services are open on the day you need them, and for what ages, before you travel with a child.
What does the Srinakarin trauma center offer?
Samitivej’s page for the Srinakarin Trauma Center says it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in Building 3 on the 1st floor, on 02-378-9191. It is one of 10 BDMS Centers of Excellence for Trauma, and the page names an affiliation with Hannover Medical School in Germany.

The center lists:
- ambulance activation in under 120 seconds and assessment by an emergency doctor within 60 seconds;
- a “Code Trauma” protocol with immediate CT scanning by in-house radiologists and an operating room ready within 30 minutes;
- a 24-hour general surgeon, with access to orthopedics, neurosurgery and cardiovascular thoracic surgery;
- CT, MRI and mobile emergency ultrasound, with radiologists available around the clock;
- a 24-hour ambulance service with ground and air ambulances, medical escorts and bedside-to-bedside transport for adults and children;
- 24-hour pediatric emergency care and rehabilitation;
- all of its nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support.
The page also gives medical repatriation as a service. Ask for the emergency fee and deposit when you call, and keep your insurer’s emergency contact next to the hospital’s number. For what to do before you reach any hospital, see what to do in a medical emergency in Bangkok.
Who are the spine doctors at Samitivej Srinakarin?

The page lists these conditions: osteoporotic and other spinal fractures, spinal tumors, injuries, spinal conditions in children, scoliosis, spinal infections, cervical spondylosis, herniated disc, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and failed back surgery.
Non-surgical options listed are medication, physical therapy, selective nerve root blocks and epidural steroid injections. Surgical options listed include nucleoplasty, minimally invasive surgery, full endoscopic lumbar discectomy, microdiscectomy, lumbar fusion, vertebroplasty and decompression. Listed equipment includes bone densitometry, MRI, a Navigator System and a high-magnification micro-endoscopic camera. Doctors and their schedules change, so ask for the specialist by name and confirm that they currently see patients at Srinakarin. For other spine and bone providers, read orthopedic and spine care in Bangkok.
How much do check-ups cost at Samitivej Srinakarin?

A hospital bill depends on the doctor, tests, room and drugs, so there is no single price list. Samitivej’s annual health check-up page for Srinakarin lists packages with a promotion price and a regular price, checked on 9 October 2026. Dollar amounts are rough, at about 34 baht per US dollar. Per Samitivej, the packages are for Thai nationals and foreigners residing in Thailand only.

- Eligibility. Resident-only: the packages are open only to Thai nationals and foreigners residing in Thailand. If you are a tourist, ask which price applies to you.
- Dates. Packages can be purchased through 15 November 2026 and the privilege is valid until 31 January 2027.
- Inclusions. The prices include the doctor’s fee and the hospital service fee. Ask for the item list before you book.
For a wider comparison of check-ups across the city, see executive health check-up packages, and for treatment prices see medical tourism cost in Bangkok by procedure.
Is Samitivej Srinakarin accredited?
Samitivej’s group page mentions Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for the group, not branch by branch. Accreditation shows that a hospital follows a recognised safety framework. It does not predict the result of any single treatment. Ask Srinakarin for the current certificate that covers this branch, and read JCI vs private vs public hospitals for what the label does and does not tell you.
Does Samitivej Srinakarin work for foreigners?
Samitivej says the hospital serves Thai and foreign patients. The Bupa Global directory lists English and Chinese. The children’s hospital lists interpreters and concierge services, and the children’s site has an International Patient Services section. Ask for your language and for an interpreter when you book, and ask for it in writing.
Insurance is a separate step. Check with your insurer and the hospital’s international staff whether direct billing applies, what cap applies and whether you pay first and claim later. For choosing a policy, see health insurance for expats.
Is Samitivej Srinakarin worth it?
Reasons it works:
- Children’s care. A new standalone children’s hospital with 111 beds, on the same campus as the adult hospital.
- Emergency cover. A 24-hour trauma center with CT, MRI and ambulance services.
- Spine care. A dedicated spine and joint center with two doctors listed by the hospital.
- Published prices. Check-up packages carry promotion and regular columns.
Reasons to think twice:
- Two-tier prices. The regular price is often about double the promotion price, and promotions end on set dates.
- Resident-only offers. The check-up promotions are limited to Thai nationals and residents.
- Distance. It is far from central Bangkok, so for a minor problem close to home a clinic is quicker and cheaper.
- Branch confusion. Several Samitivej hospitals share the name. Confirm the branch on every message and receipt.
See choosing a hospital for a method that works for any Bangkok hospital.
