Essentials
ASAI Bangkok Sathorn is a lifestyle hotel with 106 rooms at 195 North Sathorn Road, down Soi Sathorn 12 in Silom. The hotel’s website describes the street as quiet and tree-lined, with a BTS station “on your doorstep”. Saint Louis is that station, and the opening announcement from the hotel’s owner, Dusit, put the walk at about five minutes.
That keeps you a few blocks from Silom Road and the Sathorn bars and restaurants while staying off the main-road noise. The hotel is built around the neighbourhood: coffee shops, restaurants, temples and markets are within walking distance, according to the hotel.
Overview
The rooms are compact. The hotel sells three types, Cosy City, Cosy and Biggy Bunk, and Dusit’s announcement calls the rooms “thoughtfully compact”. A longer stay works better if you treat the room as a place to sleep and spend the day out in the neighbourhood.
Check-in is by self-service kiosk in the lobby, which cuts the queue, and late check-out is available on request. The lobby doubles as a bar and a dining area, so it is the social space of the hotel rather than a place you pass through.
Among the Silom and Sathorn options in our Silom and Sathorn hotel guide, ASAI is the quiet-street choice with the short walk to the train. The larger towers nearby have pools; ASAI has none.
Tip: Book a room with the BTS walk in mind for the return trip too: Soi Sathorn 12 is the turn off North Sathorn Road, so give a taxi the soi number, not just the hotel name.
Food and drink
SOI Bangkok
The hotel’s Thai restaurant serves curries, from creamy panaeng to green curry, and street-food bites such as satay skewers. Breakfast is served here daily, so a morning meal needs no walk. The menu stays with familiar Thai dishes, an easy first dinner after arriving.
The Bar
The Bar is in the lobby, a space the hotel designed for drinking and eating together. It runs a Thai-style happy hour in the evening. It suits a quiet drink near your room more than a night out.
Amenities
Facilities are deliberately light: self check-in kiosks, the lobby bar and the restaurant, with late check-out on request. There is no pool, so this is a hotel for days spent out in Silom and Sathorn.

Where to stay
Pick the area before the hotel
Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
