Essentials

Banyan Tree Bangkok is a tower hotel at 21/100 South Sathorn Road with 312 rooms and suites, according to the hotel’s website. The nearest station is Lumpini on the MRT Blue Line.

The tower is on the Sathorn side of Lumphini Park, so the park, the MRT and the business district are all in reach by taxi or a short MRT ride.

Overview

Standard club rooms are about 48 m2. Suites start with the One-Bedroom Serenity Suite at 67 to 89 m2 and run up to the Presidential Suite at about 204 m2. Club-level guests use a Club Lounge on the 19th floor.

The main draw is the roof. Vertigo is an open-air restaurant on the 61st floor, with Moon Bar beside it, and Vertigo TOO sits one level below. As of October 2026 the hotel’s website gives 2 December 2026 as the reopening date for Vertigo, so check the venue status before choosing the hotel for the view. Both rooftop venues are open to the sky, which means rain can interrupt a visit.

Banyan Tree is a stay for the tower and the spa rather than for strolling out the door. Other five-stars in the district are compared in luxury hotels in Silom and Sathorn.

Tip: A club room puts the Club Lounge on the 19th floor two levels below the pool on the 21st, so a day can be spent between the two without going down to the street.

Food and drink

Vertigo and Moon Bar

Vertigo serves contemporary Pacific Rim cuisine on the open-air 61st floor, and Moon Bar next to it is the cocktail bar. It suits a special dinner or a sunset drink with a clear forecast.

Vertigo TOO

An indoor bar and lounge one floor below, on the 60th, serving cocktails with Asian and Western dishes. A calmer option when the weather is uncertain.

Saffron

Saffron includes a Signature Thai restaurant that reinterprets familiar dishes, and Saffron Grill, which focuses on charcoal and wood cooking.

Amenities

The outdoor pool is on the 21st floor, about 25 m long and 4 m wide according to the hotel’s facilities page, set among greenery with a juice bar and complimentary water and fruit. The hotel also lists a health club, yoga and the Banyan Tree Spa.

The Club Lounge on the 19th floor serves club-level rooms and suites.

Where to stay

Pick the area before the hotel

Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
