Essentials

Dusit Thani Bangkok is a rebuilt landmark hotel at 98 Rama IV Road, with 257 rooms that face Lumphini Park. It is connected to the interchange of BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Silom, according to the hotel’s website.

For a longer stay that means a park on one side, two rail lines at the interchange and the Central Park mall linked from the ground floor.

Overview

The original hotel stood on this corner from 1970 until it closed in 2019, and the new building opened on 27 September 2024 with 257 rooms, down from 517 in the old one, according to Dusit’s own announcements. Rooms are Deluxe, Premier or Club, each with a corner variant, and measure about 50 m2 (Club Corner is 52 m2). Each sleeps two adults and two children, and every room has a Lumphini Park view.

The hotel is part of the Dusit Central Park development, which adds shops and offices around the hotel; Dusit Gourmet on the ground floor links to the mall. The golden spire from the old building was kept. Dusit says it holds two Michelin Keys in the Michelin Guide 2026 selection.

Few Silom and Sathorn five-stars combine park views with a direct station link; the others are laid out in luxury hotels in Silom and Sathorn.

Tip: Ask for a higher floor on the park side: the hotel lists every room as park-view, but a higher floor gives the longer stretch of green.

Food and drink

Cannubi by Umberto Bombana

An Italian restaurant that the hotel says holds one Michelin star, with a wine cellar of more than 350 labels. Suited to a celebration dinner.

Benjarong Bangkok

Traditional Thai cooking based on family recipes from the 1800s to the 1930s, in a restored historic Thai residence.

Thien Duong and Pavilion

Thien Duong serves Vietnamese dishes and Pavilion offers regional Thai cooking led by chef Rosarin Sriprathum. Both are in the hotel, so a longer stay can rotate through four kitchens without a taxi.

Amenities

Devarana Wellness is the hotel’s spa and wellness centre, offering traditional therapies for body and spirit. The hotel has a pool with a Pool Bar, and personal training and “Jog with Me” sessions into Lumphini Park are on the activity list.

The interchange link puts both the BTS Silom Line and the MRT Blue Line directly reachable from the hotel.

Where to stay

Pick the area before the hotel

Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
