Essentials
Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River is a large luxury hotel on the city side of the river, with 299 rooms and suites. Saphan Taksin BTS station is the nearest rail stop. The hotel’s website describes it as a short walk, and the free shuttle boat to Sathorn Pier, beside the station, saves the walk altogether.
The hotel opened in December 2020 and shares the Chao Phraya Estate with Capella Bangkok. Taxis reach the door easily, while the boat is the calmer way to join the BTS or cross to ICONSIAM.
Overview
The rooms are split between two buildings, the 12-floor Cascade Building and the four-floor Palm Courtyard Building, according to Four Seasons press facts. Rooms start at about 50 m2 and suites run far larger, with a mix of river and garden views. Not every room faces the water, so state the view you want when booking.
The estate works like a small resort: its own pier, several restaurants, a spa and two pools, which suits long days spent on site as well as day trips. Capella next door is smaller and more private, while this hotel has the bigger pools and wider dining choice. The shuttle boat times and the full comparison of the river hotels are in riverside luxury hotels in Bangkok.
For a long stay, the mix of a 24-hour gym, a lap pool and a French patisserie on site means few reasons to leave the grounds on days when the heat or traffic is heavy.
Tip: Take the hotel boat to Sathorn Pier for the BTS rather than walking, and ask the concierge for the return boat times before you head out for the evening.
Food and drink
Yu Ting Yuan
The hotel’s Cantonese restaurant, and the formal dinner choice on the estate. The hotel’s website describes the dining room as dramatic.
Riva del Fiume
Italian dishes built on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, served in a relaxed riverside setting according to the hotel’s website. It suits an unhurried lunch beside the water.
Brasserie Palmier
A classic French brasserie. For lighter meals, Cafe Madeleine is the French patisserie and The Lounge serves international and Thai comfort food and afternoon tea. BKK Social Club is the cocktail bar, and Chao Phraya Terrace is a seasonal outdoor Thai charcoal grill.
Amenities
Two temperature-controlled outdoor infinity pools face the river, with a separate kids pool, and a 35 m lap pool sits in the fitness area. The 24-hour gym has Technogym equipment and a studio for yoga and Pilates.
The Urban Wellness Centre covers about 2,500 m2 and has nine treatment rooms, including couples rooms and a private spa suite, plus a hair salon, barber shop and nail salon. A steam room and a heated vitality pool are part of the wellness area.
The complimentary shuttle boat serves Sathorn Pier and ICONSIAM Pier. By car, the hotel is about 40 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport and about 30 minutes from Don Mueang.

Where to stay
Pick the area before the hotel
Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
