Essentials
Valia Hotel Bangkok is an upscale hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 24, with 279 rooms and suites in two towers. The nearest station is Phrom Phong on the BTS Sukhumvit line, and the hotel’s website says a shuttle runs every 15 minutes between the hotel, the station and the Emporium, EmQuartier and EmSphere malls.
That shuttle is the link to plan around: it covers the station and both main malls, so the Soi 24 address does not leave you cut off from the BTS. Confirm the current times when you book.
Overview
Rooms start at Premier and Premier Plus, and the suite list is long: Junior, Deluxe, Family, Junior Family, Jacuzzi and Jacuzzi Sky suites. The suites give more floor space than a standard room, which helps on a stay of more than a few nights. The styling nods to the classic luxury of the Orient.
Within boutique and design hotels in Bangkok, Valia is one of the larger hotels, with the scale of a full-service property and a pool, restaurant and meeting rooms under one roof. How it sits against the other Phrom Phong and Thonglor hotels is covered in hotels around Phrom Phong and Thonglor.
Tip: Ask the front desk for the shuttle times on arrival, and plan mall trips around them rather than counting on a walk along Soi 24.
Food and drink
Florae
Florae is the main restaurant, on the lobby floor. The hotel describes a Modern Mediterranean menu with Pan-Asian influences, built around a Mibrasa wood-fire grill, in a garden-style room. The Butterfly Bar there serves cocktails and organic wines.
A breakfast buffet runs here on weekdays and weekends, so mornings need no trip outside.
BelleValia
BelleValia is the pool bar on the 6th floor, with light bites and cocktails by the water. It suits an afternoon drink after the shuttle ride back from the mall.
In-room dining
The hotel lists in-room dining around the clock, from late-night snacks to a full breakfast. Useful after a late arrival or on a day you would rather not go out.
Amenities
The pool is on the 6th floor with panoramic city views, and there is a children’s pool. A fitness centre is on site.
The hotel also has function rooms for meetings and events. Staff speak Thai, English, French, Arabic, Russian, German and Chinese.

Where to stay
Pick the area before the hotel
Traffic and heat make Bangkok distances feel longer than they look on a map, so the area shapes a trip more than the hotel does. Our guides match areas to trip types and explain the trade-offs.
